About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trauma Surgeon to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing immediate surgical care to patients suffering from critical injuries and life-threatening conditions. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, rapid decision-making skills, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and surgically treat patients with traumatic injuries, including blunt force and penetrating trauma.
  • Perform emergency surgeries, such as exploratory laparotomies, thoracotomies, and vascular repairs.
  • Stabilize critically injured patients in the emergency department and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide postoperative care, monitor recovery, and manage complications.
  • Participate in trauma team activation and lead resuscitation efforts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment plans, and patient progress documentation.
  • Train and educate medical students, residents, and fellows in trauma and acute care surgery.
  • Contribute to trauma system development, including quality improvement initiatives and research.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a General Surgery residency program and a Trauma/Critical Care Surgery fellowship.
  • Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification required.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
