Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, including inspections, servicing, and repairs of mechanical systems and equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, and motors.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance to ensure the ongoing reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly and effectively to mechanical faults, breakdowns, and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely resolution of mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
- Stay informed about industry trends, advances in mechanical technology, and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role, ideally within facilities management or property services.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and associated controls.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, and conducting planned preventative maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work swiftly under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Flexibility to work on shifts and participate in an on-call rota.
