About the Role
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, seeking talented and passionate professionals dedicated to client success. The Energy, Infrastructure & Transition group aims to be a lead financial advisor and debt provider for renewables and infrastructure clients globally.
Responsibilities
- Originate and execute corporate finance and M&A transactions as part of the Global EIT team.
- Manage and train Associates and Analysts.
- Conduct industry group research and analysis using various data sources.
- Perform company-specific analysis and valuations with a strong focus on financial modeling.
- Prepare marketing materials, including pitch books, client presentations, and transaction documentation.
- Analyze capital structures and financing methods.
- Liaise with internal teams and external client groups.
- Perform routine analysis of information, develop conclusions, and formulate responses.
- Document and save analysis in appropriate files, maintaining databases, comparable transactions, and precedent transactions.
Requirements
- Relevant deal experience in M&A and capital raising.
- Extensive understanding of deal structuring.
- Demonstrated academic achievement, specifically in finance and accounting.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong team player.
- Advanced Excel modelling, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to analyze information and formulate responses to issues.
- Degree educated with at least four years directly relevant experience within Investment Banking and/or relevant industry.
- MBA and/or CFA considered an asset.
- Legally eligible to work at the specified location(s).
- Must have a valid work or study permit, where applicable.
