About the Role

The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to established standards, instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
• Vacuum rugs and perform spot cleaning and shampooing as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash interior windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Clean glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior.
• Wash and spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable vacuum cleaner (back pack style).
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

• $17.60 - $20.11 CAD Hourly
