About the Role
NPI Sample Maker is an important role within the CG new style development team, responsible for sewing entire garments from beginning to end. This role creates copies of final prototypes of new designs, applying design changes, sizing samples, and creating reference samples with a focus on efficient manufacturability.
Responsibilities
- Sew entire garments from beginning to end of new development, applying any required design changes to achieve desired outcome.
- Work with the Product Integration team and QA from Sample Room to properly introduce new styles to Bulk Production, minimizing risks, optimizing processes, reducing SAMs, and capturing videos on the best sewing method.
- Use various industrial machines such as single needle, double needle, AMS, PS800, serger, binding, bar tack, seam sealing, snaps, and eyelets machines.
- Perform product quality inspection and evaluation.
- Trainable to use other machines and technology, and other operations, if necessary.
- Ensure the work area is clean and safe.
Requirements
- Experience in sample sewing outwear from start to finish.
- Excellent understanding of garment constructions, measurements, reading BOM and technical garment specifications.
- At least 5 years of experience in clothing manufacturing.
- English reading & writing proficiency.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills required to work in conjunction with NPI team, Industrial Engineers, Mechanic, Supervisor, to communicate sewing construction and pattern details.
- Experience as a Sample Sewer.
