About the Role

Legend is seeking a commercially minded Associate Legal Counsel to join its Legal team in London. This role offers the opportunity to support the business across a broad range of commercial legal matters, with a focus on customer and supplier contracts and gaming regulation, while gaining exposure to intellectual property and wider legal projects. The position provides genuine ownership from day one with support from experienced senior lawyers, working across multiple international markets to provide practical legal advice.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of customer and supplier commercial agreements, utilizing the support of contract playbooks and templates where applicable.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice throughout the contracting process.
  • Build trusted relationships with teams across Commercial, Product and Marketing, helping them navigate legal risk while achieving business objectives.
  • Communicate legal advice clearly and pragmatically, balancing commercial opportunities with appropriate risk management on legal projects and programmes.
  • Support legal research, licensing and gaming regulatory initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist the business in understanding and applying relevant gaming and advertising regulations.
  • Support intellectual property matters, including ownership, licensing and protection of company IP assets and content.
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks and self-service guidance that improve efficiency and enable teams to work more effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify legal processes and reduce turnaround times.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with approximately 1-3 years PQE, gained within a commercial, corporate, technology or in-house legal environment.
  • A strong grounding in commercial law and experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and practical way.
  • A commercial mindset, balancing legal risk with pragmatic business solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience partnering across different business functions.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of your work while knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Exposure to gaming regulation would be advantageous but isn't essential.
