About the Role
The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) is seeking an Investigator to join the Professional Conduct and Regulatory Affairs (PCRA) department. This role involves investigating complaints and reports regarding the conduct of dentists, supporting committees, and enforcing decisions, all while acting in the public interest.
Responsibilities
- Investigate complaints and reports regarding the care and conduct of dentists by collecting relevant information and dental records, interviewing witnesses, attending at dental offices, arranging expert opinions, and compiling records of investigations.
- Respond to inquiries from parties.
- Interview witnesses.
- Request records and information from various sources.
- Analyze information.
- Obtain expert opinions.
- Prepare matters for the Registrar and/or the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee.
- Manage case files using the College’s electronic case management system to ensure integrity, accuracy, and adherence to legislated requirements and timelines.
- Review records of investigation (ROIs) and disclosure of investigation materials to parties.
- Represent the College with external stakeholders, including at the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, as required.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Travel within Ontario may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of a university degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated experience and training with various investigative techniques and superior investigation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize and present information in an objective and neutral manner.
- Proven ability to manage difficult situations and demonstrate tact, discretion, and sensitivity.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and ability to professionally engage a variety of stakeholders.

- $104,159 to $117,178.20
