About the Role

Connect services and empower families to give every young child the best start in life. As our Community Inclusion Advisor, you’ll play a vital role connecting early years services across the borough, helping young children thrive and building strong foundations for local families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Best Start in Life priorities, ensuring young children and families receive seamless, joined-up support.
• Visit schools, nurseries, or Family Hubs.
• Collaborate with health and social care partners.
• Host evidence-based workshops for parents to strengthen the home learning environment.
• Lead efforts to improve Good Level of Development outcomes.
• Support early learning, school readiness, and positive transitions into Reception.
• Bring together schools, private, voluntary, and independent providers, and community partners to create clear, accessible pathways for local families.
• Coach and guide early years practitioners.
• Share best practice.
• Use data to target improvement.
• Champion inclusive practice for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status or a background as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Significant experience in Early Years.
• Thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, child development, and school readiness.
• Skilled in using outcome data to target support.
• Skilled in designing and delivering engaging workshops.
• Skilled in embedding inclusive practice for children with SEND.
• Approachable, warm, and solution-focused communicator.
• Ability to build trust with families from all backgrounds.
• Experience in leadership or mentoring.
• Confident coaching staff.
• Confident facilitating multi-agency discussions.
• Confident managing competing priorities across diverse settings.
• Deep commitment to fairness, empathy, and teamwork.

Salary/Compensations

• New hires will start at the minimum of the advertised salary range.
