About the Role
We're looking for a designer who studies the systems and materials at hand, then finds a way of putting them together that feels both unexpected and inevitable. At Co–Star, the materials are a 4,000-year-old system of astrology, planetary data from NASA, and a corpus written by astrologers and poets. The qualities we're designing for: astrology made accessible without asking anyone to learn a complex system, and a language that lets people share something intimate with their friends. We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to continue cultivating those qualities across Co–Star and new experiments. You'll move between product architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and visual design. Ideas rarely arrive as polished specs. You'll help decide what we make next and how it works.
Responsibilities
- Design and build products from concept through launch.
- Work closely with design and engineering on new features and launches.
- Contribute visual assets for marketing.
- Prototype ideas quickly using Figma, Claude, Cursor, and whatever tools helps move the work forward.
Requirements
- You have 2–5 years of experience designing and building for the web.
- You move fluidly across the full design process, from early concept through final production.
- You have an instinct for the details that make interfaces feel considered: type, spacing, motion, and how they all work together.
- You know enough HTML and CSS to work effectively with engineers—or to build parts of the experience yourself.
- You're comfortable using tools like Claude Code and Cursor as part of your workflow.
- You'd rather prototype than make a presentation.
- Work > ego
- A portfolio is required.
