About the Role
The Commercial Partnerships Manager will serve as a trusted advisor, providing first-class relationship management and rights delivery for official Footwear and Apparel Partners across various events. Key responsibilities include proactive communication, rights delivery, driving continuous improvement, and developing activation plans to meet brand marketing objectives. This role also involves kit management, coordinating orders with apparel partners, and implementing them alongside business needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class client servicing to official Footwear and Apparel partner(s), including day-to-day account management and quarterly KPI meetings.
- Support the Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager and Head of Commercial Partnerships in developing partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and additional revenue streams.
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to deliver year-round apparel marketing campaigns.
- Develop and deliver apparel partner activation plans with key stakeholders, meeting brand objectives and partnership KPIs.
- Monitor industry trends and act on opportunities to enhance value for partners or the business.
- Act as the central coordinator between Commercial, Marketing, Events, Operations, Digital, and Customer Experience teams for successful partnership activations and apparel programs.
- Manage and approve partner branding assets, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines, sponsorship designations, and event-specific creative requirements.
- Maintain and manage partnership rights trackers, monitoring contractual assets, branding requirements, deliverables, and reporting obligations.
- Represent the department in internal and external planning meetings, maximizing commercial opportunities aligned with company objectives and VMOSA.
- Produce partnership performance reports, post-event evaluations, and stakeholder updates, using data to demonstrate value and identify future opportunities.
- Attend selected events annually to assist with partner activations and support the wider business.
- Occasionally support the Business Development team in partnership renewals and upselling opportunities.
- Manage and oversee the business's kit requirements, including event finisher T-shirts, workforce uniforms, and influencer/community kit drops.
- Collaborate with the apparel partner to develop seasonal product plans, event ranges, workforce apparel, and participant merchandise programs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in partnership and kit-management processes, implementing efficient systems and reporting tools.
- Support the delivery of sustainable apparel and partnership initiatives aligned with London Marathon Events' social purpose and environmental objectives.
Requirements
- Experience in commercial apparel partnerships, apparel sponsorship, retail account management, or retail wholesale management (rights holder or brand retailers).
- Proven experience working within the apparel, footwear, or retail market.
- Confident in managing and establishing senior stakeholder relationships.
- Competency in AI and utilizing AI functions to enhance business processes.
- Cross-functional project management experience.
