About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of software product initiatives in electric power system analysis, visualization, and optimization of electric utility data. This role contributes to technologies supporting efficient energy management, decarbonization, and the expansion of renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software design and architecture.
- Write clean, scalable code to support the energy transition, including solar and batteries, EVs, and grid analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Lead and mentor junior developers.
- Investigate, prototype, and apply new technologies to drive innovation in enterprise software applications.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Continuously improve software development processes and contribute to team best practices.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications, including troubleshooting and fixing issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 2-5 years of experience in software development with a demonstrated ability to deliver software solutions in a professional setting.
- Effective competency in one or more compiled programming languages (Rust, C/C++).
- Effective competency in one or more interpreted languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).
- Strong Background in Mathematics.
- Formal ML Training.
- Agentic Systems Experience.
- Experience with JSON, XML, DB Management, SQL, Kubernetes, and Scalable Open-Source DB Technologies.
- Experience with Geometry of Space, Graphics Development (DirectX, OpenGL), UI Design.
- Power Industry Experience.
- Familiarity with software development tools and frameworks (e.g., VS, VS Code, Git, Docker, Jenkins, etc.).
