About the Role
Northern Clearing Inc. is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to provide on-site leadership for solar, BESS, and substation civil projects. This role involves managing earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, environmental controls, and grading, ensuring safety compliance, and directing field operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage earthwork, utilities, and storm drainage, including environmental controls and grading.
- Ensure OSHA and company safety compliance.
- Manage subcontractors and direct field operations.
- Oversee project setup, including office, yard, equipment, and personnel.
- Develop and manage operations plans and project scheduling.
- Interpret environmental permits, drawings, blueprints, and CAD drawings.
- Utilize Trimble Business Center and Propeller Aero for modeling and data processing.
- Operate Trimble GPS data collectors for field data collection and site calibration.
- Manage material submittals.
- Oversee mass excavation, cut/fill operations, and equipment management for high-production projects.
- Manage installation of ponds, basins, storm drainage pipe, outfall structures, and related components.
- Oversee installation of roadway culvert crossings.
- Manage installation of geotextile fabrics, geogrids, and Geoweb.
- Oversee access road subgrade preparation, including stabilization and moisture conditioning.
- Manage installation and maintenance of environmental controls.
- Oversee compaction testing, sieve analysis, and geotechnical reports.
- Track and monitor production in real-time in coordination with project management.
- Communicate effectively via email and other correspondence.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in performing the duties of a Civil Construction Superintendent.
- Proficiency in project setup (office, yard, equipment, personnel).
- Proficiency in operations planning and scheduling.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding environmental permits and drawings.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and CAD drawings.
- Ability to use Trimble Business Center and Propeller Aero.
- Proficiency in using Trimble GPS data collector.
- Proficiency in material submittals.
- Proficiency in mass excavation cut/fill operations and equipment management.
- Knowledge and experience for installation of ponds, basins, storm drainage pipe, outfall structures, and related components.
- Knowledge of roadway culvert crossing installation.
- Knowledge of geotextile fabrics, geogrids, and Geoweb.
- Knowledge of access road subgrade preparation.
- Understanding and knowledge of environmental controls, installation, and maintenance.
- Understanding and knowledge of compaction testing, sieve analysis reports, and geotechnical reports.
- Ability to track and monitor production in real-time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
