About the Role
Jamestown Plastics has openings for a Manufacturing Machine Operator. This position reports to the Production Manager and works closely with other machine operators as well as Quality to ensure the quality of parts being produced. The Machine Operator uses machine tools to create production parts with a high degree of accuracy to conform to customer requirements/specifications.
Responsibilities
- Performs machine set ups and production tool changeovers.
- Operates machinery and equipment according to instruction.
- Adjusts machinery when necessary to improve quality or performance.
- Performs basic production machine maintenance and machine troubleshooting.
- Observes and follows company safety rules and regulations.
- Floats between different operations on different machines based on customer demands.
- Safely and efficiently operates machinery in the plant.
- Ensures productivity/quality/continuous improvement on a daily basis.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of all machines.
- Reads and understands drawings.
- Verifies gauges.
- Ensures knowledge of quality standards.
- Verifies production/disposition.
- Maintains housekeeping/safety.
- Follows policies/procedures.
- Follows work instructions/procedures.
- Records daily production/scrap.
- Takes notes for future reference.
- Participates in best practices.
- Correctly inspects tooling.
- Familiar with environmental standards.
- Operates as a team player, working and communicating well with others while promoting teamwork throughout the shop.

Requirements
- Experience as a Machine Operator is preferred.
- Knowledge of production procedures is preferred.
- Analytical skills are preferred.
- Some internal and external training may be available to qualified candidates.
