About the Role
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for its multi-location practice in Riverdale, NY. This role is crucial for providing excellent patient care and ensuring smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and concerns in a welcoming manner.
- Room patients and record vital signs.
- Take a detailed history of present illness.
- Process prior authorizations for medications.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with medical staff for efficient patient flow and operations.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including faxing and scanning documents.
Requirements
- Must be able to reliably commute to scheduled locations and at least two other locations as needed.
- Completion of a Medical Assisting course is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in Physical Therapy or Pain Management is a plus.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
