About the Role

The Fixed Income Analyst I supports both trading and research functions within the Fixed Income team, combining market execution support, portfolio analytics, and client servicing to drive revenue, enhance client relationships, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The analyst will develop a strong foundation in fixed income securities, macroeconomic analysis, and trading operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze fixed income asset classes to identify trade ideas and portfolio adjustments.
  • Support trading desk operations by executing trades, managing inventory, and processing transactions.
  • Develop Excel models and quantitative tools to support portfolio analytics and research.
  • Maintain relationships with brokers, dealers, and internal sales teams to facilitate market liquidity and trade execution.
  • Assist in identifying sales opportunities from trading desk inventories and provide deeper credit and market spread analysis.
  • Communicate macroeconomic trends and market conditions to inform timing and strategy.
  • Participate in client servicing activities, including responding to inquiries, preparing materials, and supporting sales efforts.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to product training and knowledge sharing across institutional and retail sales teams.
  • Assist with project management, RFPs, and administrative tasks related to recordkeeping and compliance.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team’s and the company’s mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated academic or professional exposure to financial analysis and corporate finance concepts.
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses within the timeframe outlined by company policy.

Skills

  • Emerging professional proficiency, generally acquired through 0–2 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and presentation development.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed.
  • Financial Modeling: Ability to build and interpret complex financial models to support transaction analysis and client recommendations.
  • Due Diligence: Experience conducting credit, accounting, and legal due diligence to assess transaction viability and risk.
  • Market Research: Skilled in sourcing and synthesizing market data, economic trends, and comparable transactions to inform strategic decisions.
  • Client Communication: Ability to prepare compelling pitch materials and market updates tailored to client needs and business objectives.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with third-party financial platforms and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ) used in investment banking or corporate finance environments.
