About the Role

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Editorial Tools & Services team. This role focuses on designing and deploying AI-first software applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You will engage in core development, integrate APIs, utilize infrastructure-as-code and containerization, and leverage AI-generative tools within an agile, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Gather and analyze business requirements to create technical designs and functional specifications.
Research and identify new technologies to improve application performance and development efficiency.
Provide creative solutions to complex technical problems.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Participate in team meetings, project planning, and work estimation.
Collaborate on software releases.
Deliver performant, well-documented, and resilient features.
Work with Quality Assurance to define test plans, execute testing, and resolve defects.
Partner with system operations to ensure system stability and high availability.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
2–4 years of professional software development experience.
Hands-on experience with C#/.NET Core, NodeJS, or Python.
Experience with cloud-based development, preferably AWS.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong interest in using AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or ChatGPT.
Ability to validate AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, code reviews, debugging, logging, and production support.
Knowledge of common design patterns.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
