About the Role

The A&R and Content Acquisition Associate Director will drive distribution and catalog acquisition development efforts internationally for ADA US, supporting the head of A&R in New York and collaborating with various departments and global ADA team members.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a network of contacts within the independent music community to bring in new business for label distribution and catalog acquisition.
  • Research targets and gather data on the US independent music business and market share, focusing on investments and acquisitions.
  • Manage deal flow, ensuring finance and label management teams have necessary information for content ingestion and client onboarding.
  • Set pitch meetings and prepare presentations for the wider team.
  • Produce reports and charts to communicate deal strategy and track progress.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to enhance projection models for new deals, advising on comparable artists and growth trends.
  • Work with the business and legal affairs team on deal terms and structure nuances.
  • Attend concerts, studio sessions, and playbacks as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strategic thinking with a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to engage the right people to overcome roadblocks and accelerate timelines.
  • A college degree in Music/Entertainment, Business, Economics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive network of relationships in the independent music space.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the music industry, distribution, consumer behaviors, and the digital ecosystem.
  • 2-4 years of previous experience in a contract administration, finance, or A&R/Biz Dev role.
