About the Role
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role within an early-stage company, supporting the scaling of legal and compliance functions. You will manage day-to-day legal operations, improve internal controls, and build foundational legal processes in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate standard commercial agreements including NDAs, vendor contracts, SaaS agreements, and statements of work.
- Manage the central contract database and CLM, tracking renewals and business obligations.
- Update and maintain company templates, playbooks, and fallback language.
- Design and manage legal processes and workflows.
- Maintain corporate records, minute books, and legal documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Security/Product teams.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and develop legal self-serve tools for non-lawyers.
- Conduct legal research on statutory, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Support data protection initiatives and security compliance reviews.
- Synthesize legal findings into clear guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with investor reporting, board packs, and corporate transaction due diligence.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or junior legal associate.
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or technology environment.
- Strong foundation in commercial contract principles, legal drafting, and general corporate law.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of personal accountability.
- Ability to follow up with stakeholders to secure approvals and inputs.
- Tech-savvy with experience in CLM tools, e-signature platforms, and modern knowledge hubs.
