About the Role
The Senior Operational Excellence Consultant plays a critical leadership role in modernizing Richardson Wealth’s core operational ecosystem. This role will actively support operational and advisor service leaders in designing, delivering, and sustaining large-scale operational change, while providing hands-on expertise in process transformation, operating model design, and execution discipline. The Senior Consultant plays a critical role in the ongoing transformation of Richardson Wealth’s platform simplifying processes, reducing operational friction, elevating the client & advisor experience, and aligning all operational capabilities to the future-state integrated environment.
Responsibilities
- Advise on the development of a multi-year strategy to modernize operations, advisor services, and AI-enabled journeys, while ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Help define the operating model—including structure, processes, governance, and metrics—across Operations, Advisor Services, and AI/Operational Excellence.
- Support VPs, AVPs, and their teams in fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Support the transformation of RW’s operational ecosystem into a streamlined, digitally enabled model that supports growth and efficiency.
- Champion automation, workflow digitization, AI-enabled processing, and reduction of manual touchpoints, drawing inspiration from the transformation themes in the source document.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to simplify advisor and client processes, harmonize workflows, and reduce end-to-end operational cycle times.
- Partner with Journey Owners and product owners to define the journey vision, strategy, and roadmap, translating business goals into short-, medium-, and long-term priorities.
- Lead a research approach that combines journey analytics, qualitative insights, voice-of-client feedback, and market intelligence to uncover opportunities and track performance.
- Support journey design activities—including prioritization, design thinking, prototyping, testing, and iteration—to define and continuously refine target-state experiences.
- Enable delivery of value across multiple teams, facilitate program-level planning & ceremonies and Drive execution, tracking & delivery performance of the target-state journeys.
- Represent the business throughout development; lead UAT and participate in PI Planning, Iteration Reviews, and System Demos to orchestrate the E2E journey.
- Ensure delivery meets legal, compliance, regulatory, and internal policy requirements; serve as escalation point for key risks and issues.
- Proactively engage senior stakeholders, executives, and advisors to align on needs, provide roadmap transparency, and report on execution progress.
- Build and manage relationships with internal partners and external vendors; influence third-party roadmaps to align with iA Private Wealth needs.
- Own the change management strategy: partnering with communication, training, and marketing teams to drive organization-wide understanding and adoption.
- Mitigate risks associated with major changes to critical processes and platforms; tailor communication to audience to maximize buy-in.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to strengthen oversight and enhance operational resilience.
- Direct operational reporting including daily dashboards, monthly regulatory submissions, fee and credit reporting, and business KPI packages.
- Strengthen data quality, operational metrics, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Develop standardized documentation, playbooks, and operating procedures.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Wealth Management operations, with deep knowledge of advisor-facing processes and dealer operations.
- Experience working with operational teams in a regulated environment (CIRO/IIROC).
- Experience driving modernization, operational transformation, or scaling operations through technology.
- Occasional travel for business meetings.
Skills
- Strong understanding of wealth operations workflows including account opening, transfers, settlements, billing, and credit.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and experience modernization.
- Proven track record of implementing operational excellence through processes and systems optimization in Wealth Management.
- Strong track record of inspiring and leading cross-functional teams to successful execution, advocating and leading staff through change.
- Ability to engage, influence and build strong relationships with external partners with commercial relationships.
- Ability to solve problems effectively by balancing various lenses – business, operations, design and technology.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented individual with strong leadership, decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Creative strategic thinker who is comfortable with change, ambiguity and challenges the status quo.
- Possess business acumen to analyze and generate insights from OKRs as well as foundational quantitative analytical skills to size business benefits.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines while providing coaching and mentoring to teams.
- Expertise in operational controls, audit readiness, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly analytical with the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
