About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Participate in regular housekeeping activities to ensure a tidy and efficient workspace.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials by transporting them to designated waste disposal sites.
  • Ensure consistent and reliable processes by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to the supervisor immediately.
  • Record production activities accurately as per company’s requirements.
  • Perform routine and preventive upkeep (including cleaning) and inspections of dept. equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the Team Lead or supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure proper tools management (storage, maintenance, etc.).
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of tools.
  • Setup and weld spiders, parts, coils across all manufacturing lines as per drawings, procedures, and special instructions.
  • Load, unload and operate different welding machines (include. robotic welder) for various welding tasks.
  • Fits bus bars.
  • Weld and braze cable & wire.
  • Prepare and weld D-Q rings and terminals.
  • Pass all welding certifications (Robotics) and re-certification tests by CWB.
  • Stage welded materials and parts for transfer to other departments.
  • Use measuring equipment, hand tools, air tools, power tools and various welding instruments.
  • Check and read drawings, blueprints and other manufacturing documents.
  • Replenish material as needed for continuous production.
  • Report material shortage to Supervisor immediately.
  • Monitor assigned production orders and make machine/workflow adjustments to maintain efficiency.
  • Operate various Powered Industrial Trucks, and cranes.
  • Operate various scissor lifts and work at heights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designate.

Requirements

  • Current CWB ticket in 47.2 Aluminum MIG welding in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions.
  • Current CWB ticket in 47.1 Stainless Steel MIG welding in flat, vertical and horizontal positions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Excellent proficiency in English including demonstrated ability to follow verbal/written instructions and complete technical paperwork when needed.
  • Flexibility to work 3 shift rotation is a requirement of the position.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • An outstanding safety and quality conscious approach while performing work duties.
