About the Role
As the world’s largest provider of thermal processing services, Bodycote employs thousands of highly skilled staff around the globe. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus.
Responsibilities
- Perform hardness and other tests and record results.
- Perform calibration of all testing equipment accurately and on schedule.
- Perform audits, weekly probes, surveys, etc. as needed.
- Complete conformance certificates and/or other related paperwork.
- Meet all specification requirements per BMS.
- Report any deviation, problem or irregularity to supervisor or management immediately.
- Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
- Perform other tasks as designated.
- Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Requirements
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Minimum one to three years in heat treating industry or related field.
- Must have working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology.
- Must have some experience reading/interpreting blueprints/specifications.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess manual dexterity.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
- Must be able to work in a sitting and standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.
- Must be able to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of commercial and aerospace materials and heat treating equipment is desired.
