About the Role

Advise on tax risks across a wide range of business activities within the Tax department, supporting J.P. Morgan International Consumer Bank (ICB) with a focus on asset and wealth management and retail banking. This role offers opportunities to work on other business lines and grow professionally within a leading global financial institution.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the J.P. Morgan International Consumer Bank (ICB) line of business on tax-related risks.
  • Understand the retail products, platforms, and transactions within the ICB line of business.
  • Develop knowledge of worldwide tax regimes applicable to these products and transactions.
  • Communicate tax risks clearly and succinctly to non-tax business and functional colleagues.
  • Escalate risks internally within the team and the line of business as appropriate.
  • Provide HMRC liaison and audit support.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and partner internally with global Corporate Tax colleagues and non-tax colleagues.

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Tax Advisor, or Accountant.
  • Relevant experience providing tax advice in a law or accounting firm.
  • Ability to communicate tax issues to non-tax personnel.
  • Interest in understanding the commercial context of tax advice.
  • Capability to work under pressure in a commercial environment without compromising technical or ethical standards.
  • Willingness to approach new and unfamiliar issues analytically and logically.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
