About the Role

The Principal Software Engineer will design and develop software for electric power system analysis, visualization, and optimization. This role contributes to technologies supporting efficient energy management, decarbonization, and the expansion of renewable energy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality software design and performance architecture.
  • Write clean, scalable code for energy transition technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Lead and mentor junior developers.
  • Investigate, prototype, and apply new technologies for enterprise software innovation.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Continuously improve software development processes and team best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications, including troubleshooting and fixing issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 6-15 years of experience in software development with a demonstrated ability to deliver software solutions in a professional setting.
  • Effective competency in one or more compiled programming languages (Rust, C/C++).
  • Effective competency in one or more interpreted languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).
  • Strong Background in Mathematics.
  • Formal ML Training.
  • Agentic Systems Experience.
  • Experience with JSON, XML, DB Management, SQL, Kubernetes, and Scalable Open-Source DB Technologies.
  • Geometry of Space.
  • Graphics Development (DirectX, OpenGL).
  • UI Design Experience.
  • Power Industry Experience.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and frameworks (e.g., VS, VS Code, Git, Docker, Jenkins, etc.).
