About the Role
This role is for a junior/mid-level lawyer within the International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) group, covering a varied workload in a friendly, collaborative team. The position offers opportunities to work within the dynamic EMEA business and an international legal community with access to training and development.
Responsibilities
- Advise Marketing and Creative teams on marketing campaigns, promotions, and productions.
- Draft agreements for engaging creative agencies and competition terms and conditions.
- Negotiate and draft agreements for the distribution of NBCU's portfolio across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
- Negotiate and draft content acquisition, advertising, and sponsorship agreements.
- Advise the Technical Operations team and assist with drafting technical services agreements and statements of work.
- Support a senior lawyer in advising the IMD business representing third-party foreign language channels for distribution into the US.
- Advise the business on compliance matters and legislative/regulatory developments in EMEA and Asia Pacific, including copyright, AI, and advertising.
- Work closely with NBCU’s specialist IP, Litigation, Privacy, and Employment lawyers.
- Potential modification of responsibilities to include supervision and training of junior staff.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Qualified to practice law in the UK preferred (other jurisdictions considered).
- 0-4 years' post-qualification experience or equivalent.
- Commercial, IP, or transactional corporate experience is desirable.
- Demonstrated solid negotiation/drafting experience and ability to learn new areas of law quickly will be considered.
- Interest in the media industry and related legal issues.
