About the Role
We are seeking an experienced payroll specialist to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team, focusing on expanding Rippling's global payroll products. This role is crucial for developing and executing new capabilities within the UK, including tax issue resolution, government agency communication, and collaboration with R&D teams. You will bring essential country-specific payroll expertise to support the development of our payroll software, impacting both the product and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Review and ensure timely filings and payments for all customers in the UK, in collaboration with the R&D team.
- Manage issue resolution and communication with various government agencies.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing payroll-related questions and resolving issues promptly.
- Reconcile and validate payroll outputs, including payslips, tax filings, and social security contributions.
- Conduct periodic payroll audits to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Document processes and tasks to streamline operations and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure UK payroll and tax compliance requirements are met by the software.
- Ensure product bugs and issues are addressed quickly.
- Prioritize and implement internal tooling requirements and automated solutions.
- Support the organization's growth and scalability.
- Participate in special projects to enhance payroll processes.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of UK payroll and tax compliance requirements, including tax calculations, filing, payment, and notice resolution.
- Proven experience handling audits, queries, calls, and disputes with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Minimum of 3+ years in a client-facing role.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in leading client calls.
- Ability to manage and resolve a queue of customer support tickets.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent work product, time management, and execution abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex payroll calculations and reconciliations.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for addressing client inquiries.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- A continuous learning mindset to stay updated with UK payroll regulations.
- Experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office (Docs/Sheets/Excel).
- Familiarity with Salesforce queues, JIRA, and Confluence is a plus.
