About the Role

The Max Planck Institute for Human Development is seeking applications for a PhD Position (m/f/d) within the research project, Mapping Early Memory Trajectories Across Species (ATLAS), at the Center for Lifespan Psychology. The successful candidate will lead specific arcs of the project, managing participant recruitment, data acquisition, curation, analysis, and publication of results.

Responsibilities

• Lead arcs 1 and 2 of the ATLAS project in all research steps.
• Recruit participants.
• Acquire data.
• Curate data.
• Analyze data.
• Publish research results.
• Participate in academic conferences.
• Present research findings and project outcomes.
• Author scientific publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

• Hold, or expect to hold by the starting date, a master's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on knowledge in conducting experimental research.
• Keen interest in memory development.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English-language skills.

Skills

• Documented skills in at least one programming language (preferably Matlab, R, or Python) are desirable.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience with the collection or analysis of EEG data is an advantage.
• Excellent written and spoken German-language skills are an advantage.
