About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated activity leader to join our growing team at Canterbury Woods, a continuing care retirement community dedicated to providing older adults with the best possible living experience.
Responsibilities
- Works with residents of the health center including skilled nursing and assisted living.
- Participates in community planning related to the interests of the residents and their needs.
- Coordinates transportation for trips/outings when necessary.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the community.
- Participates in resident/group council meetings when/if requested and provides support service to such councils.
- Supervises programs as necessary.
- Encourages residents to participate in program.
Requirements
- Experience in organizing, planning, promoting and directing cultural arts activities is preferred.
- Experience working with a geriatric population is preferred.
