About the Role
Acrisure Underwriting is seeking a creative actuary to build modern tech platforms, including an actuarial and analytics suite alongside an underwriting workbench. This role involves shaping pricing strategies, refining models, informing product design, and presenting data-driven stories to partners.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain actuarial pricing models; prepare and present indication reports.
- Refine and optimize pricing methodologies to improve profitability and competitiveness.
- Leverage Python, SQL (and advanced Excel) to streamline processes, automate tasks, and extract actionable insights.
- Work with large, complex datasets to identify trends, emerging exposures, and business opportunities.
- Engage underwriters, claims professionals, program teams, and reinsurance brokers to translate technical analyses into clear business recommendations.
- Create compelling dashboards and presentations that "sell" our story to internal stakeholders and external reinsurers.
- Proactively identify and implement efficiency gains across the actuarial workflow.
Requirements
- FCAS/ACAS credential with ~5-10 years of P&C pricing experience.
- Solid track record in actuarial pricing, indications, and data analysis.
- Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL for both modeling and automation.
- Advanced Excel skills to complement your coding toolkit.
- Excellent communicator—skilled at distilling complex analyses into clear business insights.
- Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Technology-driven mindset with a passion for modernizing actuarial workflows.
