About the Role
We are looking for a Documentation Engineer to join the Developer Experience (DevX) team. This role involves extending our documentation platform, writing new documentation for customers, and contributing to the technical infrastructure behind the docs platform. You will work with Product teams, write code, build tooling, and create technical content.
Responsibilities
- Write reference documentation, integration guides, tutorials, and product documentation
- Collaborate with the current documentation engineer on new ideas and solutions
- Co-own the pipeline from OpenAPI spec to published API reference, including validation, transformation, and deployment
- Build and maintain scripts and CI jobs
- Reduce manual work for the technical writing team through tooling and process improvements
- Make deliberate decisions about documentation structure for AI agent consumption
- Contribute to OpenAPI spec quality by working with writers and engineers on field naming, example coverage, and schema structure
Requirements
- Developer empathy, approaching and writing docs to increase integrating engineer efficiency
- Ability to write code independently, including scripts, debugging, and shipping solutions
- Comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript for tooling and site customization
- Fluency with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with or reading OpenAPI 3.x specifications
- Clear understanding of what makes documentation machine-readable
- Practical experience with AI tools, especially Claude, including daily use and effective prompting
- Preference for correctness over volume, knowing when to automate and when automation produces noise
