About the Role
The Advanced Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of appointments, procedures, and resources within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for managing complex scheduling needs that support patient care delivery and optimize the use of clinical and administrative staff time. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage patient appointments, procedures, and follow-ups across multiple departments or specialties.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and staff to confirm appointments and provide necessary information.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software to maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues promptly to ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Assist in the preparation of daily schedules and reports to support clinical and administrative operations.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to accommodate urgent or emergent scheduling needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in scheduling or administrative support within a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Experience working in a hospital or multi-specialty clinic setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
- Certification in medical scheduling or healthcare administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex scheduling scenarios and prioritize competing demands.
- Experience with customer service or patient relations.
