About the Role
Goldberg, Miller & Rubin, P.C. is seeking an experienced civil litigation attorney to join their New York Automotive and Trucking Negligence department. This role involves managing a full caseload and potentially supervising junior attorneys and staff.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and other case-related documents.
- Communicate with clients, insurance company contacts, and opposing counsel.
- Identify, research, and analyze legal issues and conflicting legal opinions.
- Take and defend depositions, handle arbitrations, and argue motions.
- Attend in-person and virtual court appearances.
- Record and disseminate all information on behalf of the clients.
- Analyze and summarize medical or other case-related records and highlight important information.
- Write reports to clients analyzing issues and communicating the status of the case.
- Explain litigation to those unfamiliar with the process.
- Take charge of cases to move them toward cost-effective, efficient, and fair resolutions.
- Juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines.
- Manage junior attorneys and staff.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in civil litigation with a specialization in either motor vehicle negligence and/or general liability.
- Experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other complex assignments.
- Experience in handling a full caseload.
- Experience in managing junior attorneys and/or staff.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
