About the Role

This is a new, critical role focused on building a technology ecosystem that serves as a model for enterprise businesses leveraging the Shopify ecosystem for exceptional results with agility, speed, and efficiency. You will be the guardian of quality for Engineering, writing scripts, building frameworks, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines to deliver a fully automated, continuous testing model.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable test frameworks for Web (Shopify/Liquid) and Mobile (iOS)
• Automate critical "happy paths" (Sign-up, Checkout, Add to Cart) and complex edge cases involving Membership tiers and contextual pricing
• Develop automated tests for our API layer and middleware
• Verify that data payloads sent from Shopify are correctly processed by our iPaaS and received by our ERP
• Validate webhooks and event triggers to ensure our "real-time" architecture is reliable
• Embed automated tests into our deployment pipelines
• Ensure that no code reaches production without passing your suite of checks
• Work with Engineers to catch bugs early in the development lifecycle
• Implement synthetic monitoring to proactively check the health of our live site and app
• Alert us to issues before our customers do

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in QA across e-commerce and app
• Hands-on experience with modern automation tools
• Experience testing e-commerce flows (Checkout, Payments, Account Management)
• Specific experience with Shopify is a massive plus
• Strong understanding of APIs and how to test them
• A detective’s eye for detail and a developer’s mindset for solutions
