About the Role

At Transgrid, we're looking for commercially astute professionals who can influence major infrastructure projects from the earliest stages — developing commercial strategies, negotiating complex agreements, navigating regulatory frameworks, and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver Australia's energy transition. Whether you're a Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Manager or Commercial Associate you'll play a pivotal role in originating, developing and negotiating complex network and non-network solutions that will help shape the future of the National Electricity Market.

Responsibilities

Lead or support the commercial workstream on major network and non-network infrastructure projects
Develop commercial strategies that balance customer, regulatory and business outcomes
Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements
Manage commercial risk across the project lifecycle
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes
Work closely with legal, finance, engineering and executive teams to shape investment decisions
Influence governance, approvals and commercial frameworks that support Australia's energy future

Requirements

Experience in commercial, transaction, project development or infrastructure advisory roles
Demonstrated success negotiating high-value, complex commercial arrangements
Experience working within regulated infrastructure industries
A strong understanding of commercial frameworks and risk allocation
The ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Engineering, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
Experience with the National Electricity Rules (NER) or equivalent regulatory frameworks within utilities is highly regarded
