About the Role

Williams Lea seeks a Graphic Designer to work in a fast-paced on-demand design studio within the banking sector. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience delivering innovative and creative solutions, while ensuring attention to detail and high-quality design output. The successful candidate will strive to provide creative design solutions that exceed clients’ expectations and have an intuitive understanding of brand consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients to discuss business objectives and job requirements.
  • Advise on the creative brief.
  • Interpret clients' business needs.
  • Provide fresh ideas and concepts appropriate for the brand and audience.
  • Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches.
  • Work intuitively with multiple brands and understand their purpose.
  • Create designs from concepts to final artwork delivery, adhering to digital and print specifications.
  • Present ideas and concepts to clients.
  • Manage own projects, anticipate production issues, and coordinate artwork for digital and print delivery.
  • Provide quality control of own work and others.
  • Negotiate deadlines in a calm, professional, and accommodating manner.
  • Complete Excel job timesheets daily, accurately reflecting time spent on projects.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to ensure work meets specified requirements.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of professional design experience.
  • Formal training in design to degree graduate level or equivalent.
  • Ability to create and develop compelling concepts and offer innovative solutions.
  • Good brand awareness, working intuitively with or without brand guidelines.
  • Creative flair and confidence in presenting and articulating ideas to clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to balance work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Proactive in self-development, utilising online training materials and resources.
  • Strong on working well within a team and being supportive of the development of others.
  • Exceptional visual trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to storyboard and comp visual ideas within the creative process.
  • Conceptual creative and production skills with a good understanding of layout principles, aesthetic design concepts and typography.
  • Experience creating campaigns and extending the look and feel through various marketing materials.
  • Ability to complete tasks within tight schedules and under strict layout controls.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; dependable, detail-oriented, and well organized.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Web design experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment preferred.
  • Motivated, organized, and flexible.
  • Ability to learn new software and digital platforms where required.
  • Ability to craft and generate AI prompts where required.
  • Calm and mature personality with the ability to work independently and in a team environment, often under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Strong creative and technical knowledge.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Client-focused approach, with personal commitment to the client and their business, building effective client relationships based on trust, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Good people skills, keeping clients informed of progress and processes involved.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback to help develop understanding of the client’s brand.
