About the Role
Join Barclays as an Investment Bank M&A, AVP, where you will play a pivotal role in advising clients on high-profile, multi-layered transactions. As a key member of the M&A group, you will be actively involved in live deal execution, working closely with both strategic corporations and supporting private equity firms. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth assessments of potential deals, preparing, and presenting strategic recommendations, and guiding clients through every stage of the transaction process. This role is ideal for professionals with a robust background in private equity and financial sponsor deal execution, offering the opportunity to leverage your knowledge in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while contributing to some of the most significant deals in the market.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, valuation analysis, negotiation, and deal structuring support on public and private mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and divestitures.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute potential deals.
- Collaborate with Coverage and Capital Markets groups, as well as cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and other stakeholders, to originate and execute successful M&A transactions.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including modeling and valuation, to assess potential M&A opportunities, risks, and mitigation actions, alongside their impact on clients' financial positions and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Structure deals and negotiate terms, collaborating with legal and financial colleagues to ensure financial fairness.
- Coordinate client due diligence processes, including tax, legal, financial, and operational assessments of potential target companies.
- Manage various aspects of M&A transactions to ensure efficient progress and client satisfaction.
- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using professional knowledge and skills to deliver impactful work.
- Set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes.
- Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments.
- Identify the need for inclusion of other specialized areas to complete assignments.
- Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects, utilizing cross-functional methodologies or practices.
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders for escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures to support the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls related to work performed.
- Perform work closely related to other areas, understanding coordination and contribution to organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with other work areas and business-aligned support areas to stay informed about business activity and strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex information, including sensitive or difficult-to-convey content.

Requirements
- Experience with large deal/transaction execution for corporate clients.
- Experience with public and private M&A, involved in fairness opinions.
- Ample modeling, valuation, and financial assessment experience.
- Ability to work with other teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with clients.
- FINRA regulated role.
