About the Role

As a Mobile Fleet Technician at Penn Power Group, you will work on-site at customer locations to keep fleets moving. This role requires a high-energy, self-starter capable of building productive customer relationships and delivering quality, independent service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and inspections on a variety of Class 5–8 trucks, including brakes, tires, and wiring, at customer locations.
  • Diagnose vehicle conditions through inspections and diagnostic testing.
  • Identify worn or damaged parts.
  • Take ownership of all aspects of a customer's vehicle repair to deliver best-in-class service.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity, working within or close to Standard Labor Operations.
  • Operate a dedicated service truck safely and professionally.
  • Engage customers with professionalism to strengthen relationships and represent PPG in the field.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of diesel repair experience.
  • Experience with Class 5–8 truck repair and inspection in a field or mobile setting.
  • Proficiency with computers, iPad, and iPhone.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Federal/State Brake Inspector Certification (Preferred).
  • ASE certifications (Preferred).
  • CDL (any class) (Preferred).
  • OEM experience (Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, or similar) (Preferred).
  • Diesel Technology degree or formal technical training (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with fleet management or service software (Decisiv, etc.) (Preferred).
  • Positivity, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented attitude (Preferred).
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, and overhead work using hand tools.
  • Ability to work in indoor/outdoor shop and yard settings with exposure to noise, heat, cold, and wet/icy conditions.

Salary/Compensations

  • Up to $45/hour
  • Overtime after 8 hours worked daily
  • Saturday Rate: 1.5x hourly rate
  • Sunday Rate: 2x hourly rate
  • Door-to-door travel time paid
