About the Role

Northeastern University London seeks an Assistant Professor in English, Creative and Academic Writing for a maternity cover position. The role involves teaching undergraduate and potentially postgraduate students within both US and UK credit frameworks, and providing service to the discipline. Responsibilities

Develop and deliver innovative and inclusive teaching in English, Creative and Academic Writing at undergraduate and possibly postgraduate levels.
Provide professional service commensurate with career stage.
Support the Discipline’s engagement with the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Contribute to the development of teaching grounded in authentic, personalized learning and experiential opportunities.
Align and innovate offerings along the humanics agenda, combining human-centered competencies with digital and technological literacy.

Requirements

PhD completed, or near completion (all but dissertation), or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area.
FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected (desirable).
Demonstrated excellent ability to be adaptable, innovative, and inclusive in teaching and service.
Willingness and capacity to undertake continuous professional development in strategic themes like technology, data, sustainability, and ethics.
Ability to develop excellent educational provision with a focus on experiential learning.
Flexibility and capacity to teach across a wide range of courses, potentially collaborating with specialists from other disciplines.
Teaching competency in English and Academic Writing, primarily at level 4, but potentially also at Level 7 for Creative Writing MA supervision.
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills.
Excellent IT skills and evidence of supporting the integration of technologies into learning and teaching.
Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
Experience that will support the Discipline’s engagement with the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Must be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK.
