About the Role

The Post-16 Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist provides high-quality medical support to players within the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust Post-16 Programme. This role focuses on injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention, while ensuring player welfare and physical readiness for training and competition in a high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

• Attend all post-16 training sessions and Wednesday fixtures.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat injuries sustained during training and matches.
• Deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programmes for return-to-play.
• Design and implement injury prevention and prehabilitation programmes.
• Provide pitch-side emergency medical care.
• Maintain accurate injury records, treatment notes, and medical reports per professional guidance.
• Liaise with players, parents, coaches, and external healthcare professionals.
• Advise coaching staff on player availability and training modifications.
• Support the delivery of warm-ups, recovery strategies, and wellbeing initiatives.
• Maintain medical equipment, first aid kits, and treatment areas.
• Contribute to emergency action planning and risk assessments.
• Promote safeguarding and player welfare.
• Attend Trust CPD, quality assurance, and safeguarding training.
• Support injury audits and medical administration.
• Contribute to raising the profile of the Post-16 Programme.

Requirements

• Chartered Physiotherapist registered with HCPC and CSP or Graduate Sports Therapist with Society of Sports Therapists membership.
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
• FA Emergency First Aid in Football (or willingness to obtain).
• Advanced Emergency Aid qualification (minimum Level 4 ITMMIF or equivalent).
• FA Safeguarding Children qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Experience working within football or another sporting environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and player welfare.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
