About the Role

To craft high-performance trailers that scale IP, deepen fandom, and spark global attention through world-class storytelling, platform-native editing, and AI-powered creative intelligence. You’ll use performance data to guide creative decisions, AI to accelerate workflows and enhance ideation, and storytelling to convert casual scrollers into lifelong fans.

Responsibilities

  • Create a narrative (or script) from the notes that creates a clear and cohesive narrative that also meets the requirements of our Trailer checklist
  • Create the sequence, source music, craft the sound design and prepare broll plates for our Animator
  • Work with the trailer team for 1%'s, text, ratios
  • Create experimental content to test various elements of the trailer
  • Own the full post-production process for trailers and teasers, shaping raw footage into bold, platform-first edits that drive retention, engagement, and cultural relevance
  • Build smart, emotionally resonant narratives from interviews, soundbites, music, and motion optimised for YouTube, Reels, and TikTok
  • Consistently create trailers that drive clear growth metrics across watch-through rate, shares, average view duration, and subscriber lift
  • Use performance data to optimise pacing, structure, and creative emphasis
  • Collaborate with the Growth and Strategy teams to interpret insights and apply learnings to future edits
  • Develop instinct and discipline around which storytelling choices drive performance and back those instincts with evidence
  • Actively use tools like Runway, Descript, ElevenLabs, Fathom, Firefly, or in-house AI
  • Drive innovation by testing and refining new AI tools, building systems that make the trailer team faster and smarter
  • Bring creative direction, references, and smart solutions to brainstorms and edit huddles
  • Support junior editors and assistant editors by sharing systems, templates, and AI tools
  • Collaborate across creative, social, growth, and commercial teams to deliver trailers that elevate campaigns and IP

Requirements

  • Narrative Engineering: World-class editorial instincts and understands how to build narrative arcs, emotional payoffs, and retention strategies within short-form edits
  • Can turn 90 minutes of footage into 90 seconds of pure story with clarity and rhythm
  • Post-Production: Fluent in the Adobe suite and complimentary
  • Curious, critical, and confident not just testing AI tools but embedding them into your workflow
  • Experienced across Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop
  • Performance-Driven Creativity: Understands and applies data insights from YouTube Studio, TikTok Analytics, and third-party tools (e.g. retention curves, CTR, CVR, audience drop-off)
  • Balances gut feel with evidence, knowing when to challenge the data and when to trust it
  • Creative Discipline & Ownership: Takes full ownership of their cut from first assembly to final export
  • Thrives in autonomy, executes under pressure, and communicates clearly
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Energised by working with other editors, strategists, social leads, producers, and commercial creatives
  • Helps bring everyone into the storytelling process, aligning edit impact with business results
  • Think in story and edit in stats — you love crafting emotionally charged edits, but you also obsess over retention graphs and data-informed structures
  • See AI as a creative partner — you’re curious, confident, and hands-on with new tools and find smart ways to integrate them into your workflow
  • Believe performance is a craft — you get that storytelling and performance aren’t opposites, they’re allies
  • Play for the team — you bring positive energy, contribute ideas, and know how to lift others while staying focused on delivery
  • Move like it matters — you’re fast, focused, and clear-headed under pressure; you don’t wait to be told
