About the Role
The CAA provides expert advice and assistance to Government on aviation security policy and regulation, and to the aviation industry on its delivery. This role is within the Aviation Security Training team, which works closely with compliance and regulation divisions, the Department for Transport, and external stakeholders on aviation security training policy.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the database of certificated aviation security instructors, monitoring expiration dates.
- Review and assess instructor certification applications, including background checks, vetting, education, training, and operational competence.
- Provide information, guidance, and support to external stakeholders, the DfT, and CAA colleagues on training and certification matters.
- Offer first-line technical advice to aviation security instructors on regulatory training requirements and assist in developing future requirements.
- Maintain the egress library of documents for stakeholders and support local SharePoint and communication sites.
- Plan, communicate, and administer internal and external stakeholder meetings and events.
- Undertake project work and activities to support the wider Human Performance and Training division.
- Extract, clean, and analyze training and security data to prepare reports, identify trends, and support business planning.
Requirements
- Must hold, or be willing and able to obtain, security vetting to at least Security Check (SC) level clearance.
- Requires uninterrupted residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years for SC level clearance.
- Good IT skills in common applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Confident manner in dealing with people at all levels.
- Ability to manage own workload and work unsupervised using initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively or as part of a multi-discipline team.
- Flexible, adaptable work ethos.
- Experience working with and presenting various data streams.
- Good understanding of data protection principles.
