About the Role
Hitachi Energy is seeking an Advisory Consultant to join their Enterprise Software Solutions team. This role involves representing the company as a credible expert in the energy sector, supported by a team of experienced professionals. You will receive ongoing training to enhance your expertise in the power utility/energy sector and are expected to stay ahead of market changes, gather relevant information, and consult closely with customers. The position requires collaboration with internal and external parties to achieve goals and deliver value to clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledge and expertise to customers in energy market modelling and analysis.
- Research electricity and fuel markets, technology trends, and policy & regulatory developments.
- Contribute to the development of Hitachi Energy’s Power Reference Case (long-term electricity market price forecast reports).
- Validate model inputs, assumptions, and results.
- Handle bespoke advisory work for clients.
- Share findings with clients in written or verbal communications.
- Contribute to Hitachi Energy’s product development by identifying new opportunities and expanding product coverage.
- Contribute to product sales and marketing activities, including developing webcasts and thought leadership content.
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Operational Research, or a related quantitative subject.
- Prior experience within the energy sector with knowledge of the energy industry, renewables, or market modelling.
- Strong problem-solving skills to adapt analysis to changes in the energy sector’s dynamic transitional environment.
- Ability to develop methodologies and create innovative solutions.
- Systematic, quality-conscious, proactive approach and efficient time management.
- Strong analytic skills, particularly quantitative analysis.
- Ability to thrive in team environments.
- Effective communication skills; fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Experience with software development or programming is a plus (e.g. Python, SQL, Power Query).
- Fluency in other European language(s) is beneficial.
