About the Role
Our Community Independence Service (CIS) is a multidisciplinary team supporting adults with complex health and social care needs. We provide short-term support for people discharged from hospital or recovering from illness or injury to help them remain independent at home.
Responsibilities
- Assess people's capabilities using a variety of approaches.
- Help patients find the motivation and support to progress.
- Guide and mentor colleagues, including Independent Living Assessors.
- Promote a culture of learning.
Requirements
- Qualified and registered Occupational Therapist.
- Ideally with a community-based background.
- Significant experience of carrying out OT assessments for disabled people and their carers.
- Sensitive and empathic when dealing with people who have new diagnoses or injuries.
- Well-developed powers of persuasion.
- Comfortable working with electronic case management systems.
- Undertake an Enhanced Adults DBS and Adults Barred List check.

Salary/Compensations
- New hires will normally start at the minimum of the pay scale.
- A higher starting salary may be negotiated where a candidate demonstrates exceptional skills, knowledge, or experience.
- Employees receive annual salary increments until they reach the top of the pay scale, as well as any agreed cost of living pay awards.
