About the Role

The role of the CP Community Facilitator is to provide case management services in an appropriate, timely, and systematic manner in accordance with SOPs. The key objectives are to support frontline workers and key community individuals in safely identifying child protection risks, ensuring children with complex needs who have been harmed or are at risk receive case management support. This involves registration, assessment, action planning, service provision, referrals, and follow-up, with essential documentation at each step. The role also supports families in caring for and protecting children and collaborates with other case management actors and service providers for safe referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with community members in addressing protection cases through referral mechanisms and services, considering community-based mechanisms.
  • Train, coach, and support community members in identification and monitoring activities for Child Protection and GBV work.
  • Train, coach, and support community members on the existence of referral pathways and related service providers.
  • Follow up on regular cases.
  • Receive and verify information from the communities.
  • Ensure community mobilization and coordinate with stakeholders in assigned areas.
  • Assist supervisor in preparing and holding meetings and trainings, and in developing monthly work plans and budget estimations.
  • Assign, monitor, and evaluate the progress of work with community members and animators.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports on trends of Child Protection Activities and follow-up.
  • Assist supervisor in supporting technical implementations of plans to facilitate CP-related information and coordinate with other agencies when needed.
  • Perform case form data entry and send to the line manager and database focal on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports on trends of CP cases identified and followed up.
  • Support supervisor and co-facilitate capacity building trainings for CFS animators in project areas.
  • Support CFS animators in activity implementation and capacity development.
  • Guide and support CFS animators in developing work plans and training plans.
  • Carry out any other duties and tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensure self and supervisees are aware of the Child Safeguarding Policy and code of conduct and apply them at all times.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with SCI Equal Opportunities and Diversity policies and procedures.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy, reporting suspicions of child abuse.
  • Ensure work practices do not put children at risk, scrutinizing work through a child safeguarding lens and discussing potential design/implementation flaws with children.
  • Promote the message of child safeguarding to colleagues, children, and community members.
  • Be vigilant about observing possible child abuse/harm in personal and professional lives.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with the SCI anti-harassment policy.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with SCI Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Secondary Education or equivalent experiences.
  • Ability to communicate in Burmese and Rakhine (if applicable).
  • Ability to read and write in Burmese and English.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in implementing child rights programming.
  • At least 1 year in implementing and working with children.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values, and principles.
  • Experience working with children using child-friendly approaches and techniques.
  • High motivation to work in difficult circumstances.
  • A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation, and non-discrimination.
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating trainings, meetings, awareness campaigns, and campaigns.
  • Experience in community mobilization.
  • Previous experience working for an NGO or other non-profit organization.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a multi-faceted workload.
  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail.
