About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Aide to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of both staff and clients at our work site. The Residential Aide will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment by enforcing house rules and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor clients, units, dorms, and facilities to ensure resident safety and security.
- Enforce shelter policies and follow staff policies and procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining communication logs and documenting resident activities.
- Provide assistance to clients, address questions, and resolve issues.
- Inspect items entering the facility to guarantee client and staff safety.
- Monitor video footage of common areas.
- Adhere to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines, organizational policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular hourly rounds of the facility.
- Promptly report immediate safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with security personnel to ensure staff and resident safety.
- Prepare units for vacancies, including cleaning and tagging client belongings.
- Document all incident details, participants, actions taken, and outcomes accurately.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- NYS Security License preferred.
- F-02 Certificate of Fitness.
- CPR/Basic First Aid certification.
- Food handler certificate NYC/NYS.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with residents.
- Prior experience in a residential facility is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and standards.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Demonstrated good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Proficiency in assessing emergency situations and responding effectively.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English for administrative purposes.
- Must pass drug screening.
- Position may be subject to investigations before and after appointment.
