About the Role
Canada Rocket Company is building a sovereign launch capability for Canada. This role involves leading the design, development, and integration of mechanical hardware across vehicle subsystems, taking projects from concept through to flight.
Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of mechanical hardware and integrated assemblies.
- Manage mechanical systems from concept through design, manufacturing, testing, and flight integration.
- Translate requirements into detailed designs that meet structural, thermal, and reliability targets.
- Develop CAD models, drawings, and release packages for various hardware configurations.
- Perform engineering analyses including hand calculations and FEA for strength, vibration, and thermal performance.
- Manage packaging and integration within constrained environments, balancing mass and assembly flow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including structures, avionics, and propulsion.
- Support design-for-manufacture and design-for-assembly initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical design for aerospace, automotive, or similar demanding environments.
- Proven track record of owning components from concept through deployment.
- Proficiency in CAD and mechanical drawing creation.
- Strong engineering fundamentals in statics, strength of materials, and structural mechanics.
- Ability to perform engineering analyses using first-principles and FEM/FEA tools.
- Experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T, and interface control.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on cost and quality.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Education Level
