About the Role
Foster a fun and welcoming program environment for youth by introducing climbing fundamentals, developing skills, and building an engaged community.
Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions.
- Obtain required certifications (SafeSport, CPR/First Aid) and provide documentation.
- Communicate with the Youth Program Director as needed.
- Oversee assigned groups, ensure safety, and engage professionally.
- Communicate with staff and Youth Program Director during program hours, reporting issues immediately.
- Belay participants and assist with climbing technique.
- Lead activities, including games and crafts, adhering to the coaches' code of conduct.
- Set up and break down daily activities.
- Communicate clearly with participants and parents regarding programming and progress.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with youth in a camp, program, outdoor/adventure, or educational setting.
- Strong behavior management skills with youth of all ages.
- Strong in-person communication skills with children, parents/guardians, and staff.
- Availability during all program operating weeks from morning until mid-afternoon.
- Proficiency in top rope belaying or willingness to learn.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze movement and provide insightful feedback.
