About the Role
Responsible for the architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting of software solutions, influencing requirements through interaction with business and product teams, and ensuring integration with all business systems and applications. Collaborates with architecture and networking teams to influence design, validation, and deployments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own the tooling that powers Equinix’s API ecosystem, including API governance and specifications, SDK/IaC/documentation generation, and developer platform workflows.
- Lead technically across teams, improve developer experience, and raise reliability through automation, including AI-assisted checks.
- Manage API lifecycle and governance, including OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, versioning, and compatibility.
- Utilize Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD for development and deployment.
- Integrate with gateways/edge technologies and identity/authorization patterns.
- Own systems end-to-end and lead through influence with an automation-first mindset.
Requirements
- Senior Staff-level experience building and operating production systems or internal developer platforms.
- Deep experience with API lifecycle management and governance (OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, versioning, compatibility).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform (providers and modules), Kubernetes, and Linux-based CI/CD.
- Familiarity with gateways/edge technologies (e.g., Apigee, ALB, Ingress, Envoy) and identity/authorization patterns.
- An automation-first mindset and comfort owning systems end-to-end while leading through influence.
