About the Role

The Electrical Maintenance Technicians at the Amrize Ravena, NY cement plant ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant and quarry to maximize operational efficiency. This role involves continuous training and improvement to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant and quarry mechanical, mobile, and electrical equipment in accordance with plant, mine, MSHA, and safety guidelines. The position reports to the Electrical Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex mechanical, mobile, quarry, and electrical equipment.
Stay updated on maintenance and safety procedural changes and contribute to developing new procedures.
Write and contribute to daily reports, special project reports, and incident reports.
Use computers for entering work orders and equipment history.
Report maintenance problems to supervisors, coordinators, or engineers and participate in corrective actions.
Perform tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation.
Complete and follow up on work orders and assist in locating and issuing stores materials.
Conduct preventive/proactive inspections and document findings.
Identify, report, and assist in resolving safety and environmental concerns and work practices.
Explore, understand, and apply new trade tools, techniques, and technologies for continuous improvement.
Follow all Amrize and MSHA safety procedures and company initiatives.
Actively participate on the Joint Health and Safety Committee and in developing new procedures like lock out tag out and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) / Job Plans.
Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
Promote a culture of safety and exhibit safety-conscious behaviors.

Requirements

A High School diploma or GED.
5+ years as an Industrial Electrician.
English language proficiency.
Desired experience with troubleshooting and repairing.
Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
Ability to frequently walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions.
Ability to occasionally sit.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Frequent exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, confined space, outside weather conditions, low lighting, artificial lighting, and explosives.
Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, proximity to electrical equipment, and vibration.
Work in an environment with moderate and occasionally loud noise levels.
