About the Role
EDF Trading is a data business that aims to monetize and optimize data as an asset within the complex European energy markets. The Data team is responsible for providing business solutions to extract value from large datasets, covering market data collection, analysis tools, real-time data processing, data governance, and machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data-oriented systems as part of the software development team.
- Deliver functionality from requirements analysis through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Participate in Agile development processes and ceremonies.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on solution design and technical implementation.
- Produce high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Work with business users and analysts to clarify requirements.
- Collaborate with the data support team to ensure platform stability and incident resolution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and practices.
Requirements
- Commercial experience developing applications using .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET).
- Good understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle).
- Understanding of development practices including unit and integration testing, Dependency Injection (IoC), SOLID principles, and application logging/monitoring.
- Experience developing web applications using Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
- Experience working with data-intensive applications involving large volumes of data or real-time processing.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work collaboratively within a development team.
