About the Role
This role supports the organisation’s lead specialist on fraud policy, helping to shape and deliver high-profile, technically complex fraud policy workstreams, provide expert advice, and influence external partners to drive joined-up approaches to preventing fraud and combating financial crime.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver fraud policy workstreams, undertaking research, analysing regulatory developments, and producing evidence-based policy recommendations.
- Provide specialist fraud policy expertise by delivering technical advice, policy analysis, briefings, and guidance to colleagues.
- Support the development of fraud policy, assessing emerging fraud risks, regulatory changes, and market trends.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, working with government bodies, industry representatives, and regulatory partners.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to team capability and knowledge sharing, supporting colleagues through collaboration, mentoring, and dissemination of best practice.
Requirements
- Prior experience of drafting or shaping policy.
- Prior experience of financial crime and the financial crime landscape.
- Demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience of leading projects and supporting others.
- Solid analytical skills, including ability to analyse complex quantitative and qualitative data, draw reasoned and logical inferences, and reach robust and practical conclusions within tight deadlines.
- Interest in policymaking and developing regulation that protects client assets and reduces harm in firm failures.
- Collaborative colleague who works inclusively and shares knowledge.
- Experience of delivering a variety of competing high-profile tasks with challenging targets under tight deadlines, prioritising appropriately and escalating where necessary.
- An ability to identify and manage key stakeholders, build rapport and constructive relationships, and be a credible representative for the FCA.
- Understanding of the financial services market in the UK and how firms operate within it.
- SC Clearance is required for this role (SC Guidance) - you will hold or will be required to obtain Security Check (SC) level vetting.

Salary/Compensations
- National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £53,800 to £68,000
- London £59,200 to £75,000 per annum
